These days if you’re able to work a computer you can absolutely make an information based web site. Most business owners are happy about the artistic freedom they have to make their own web site. However the truth remains anyone can build a website, not everyone can build a website that can be found by consumers. Professional web designers have more tools in their arsenal to pin point your targeted demographic, and advertise directly to them. I am sure most of you have heard of SEO (search engine optimization) most web design templates have guides you can use to develop your SEO, but with a trained professional they know the proper terms, words, and sentence layout to fully amplify your placement in search engines.
Furthermore, you have to take into account things like customization, using a free template based website your web site may end up looking generic or worse, exactly like a competitors. Functionality is also of importance you want to be confident you can connect and engage your audience appropriately. Lastly, and to me the most important is security, you want to make sure the server your using is a secure service, and you always have a backup of your web content in case of emergency. The security of your website is detrimental to your company. Do your research!
